VISION house sponsored by
American Clay
American Clay Enterprises was
one of six Cornerstone sponsors for the
2008 Green Builder VISION House
in Orlando.
American Clay’s Earth Plasters were
used extensively throughout the house
because they moderate temperature,
inhibit mold growth and contain no
VOCs. In addition, American Clay
Products can provide up to seven LEED
credits on LEED certifi cation projects.
Th e sponsorship marks a major
expansion for American Clay into the
Florida market, where previously the
company had only limited availability.
Green Builder VISION Houses are
residential projects that demonstrate the
National Association of Home Builders’
Model Green Building Guidelines.

Gypsum Association
pulls plug on veneer
plaster document
As of December 2007, the
Gypsum Association no longer
distributes technical document GA-151,
Veneer Plaster.
Th e Association’s Technical
Committee reviewed the document and
decided that current industry standards
for the application of veneer plaster
provided adequate guidelines, rendering
GA-151 redundant. Finishers in search
of specifi c information on veneer plaster
application should refer to ASTM C 843,
Application of Gypsum Veneer Plaster.
Th e Gypsum Association’s Promotion
Committee, at the urging of the
Technical Committee, will be producing
an informational publication that outlines
the features and benefi ts of veneer plaster
systems. Th e association expects to release
the new publication later this year.
