Rotozip rolls out drywall router
Rotozip has introduced the DR1 drywall
router. Smaller, faster and more durable than a
older generation of drywall routers, the DR1’s
improved ergonomics and amplifi ed power aims
to increase job-site effi ciencies and performance.
Created for drywallers by drywallers (who
were involved in every step of the product
development process), the DR1 weighs in at
2.8 pounds and measures 7.5 inches in length,
and it features a smaller grip diameter than
competitors. At 33,000 rpm, the DR1 claims
to be the fastest spinning drywall tool on the
market, and its 6 amps of power deliver up
to 45 percent higher speeds under load than
some models.
Th e tool also features a handy on-tool
wrench storage compartment, replaceable
motor brushes, vents designed to keep dust
away from the eyes, revamped XBits capable of
cutting more than 2,000 feet of drywall, and a
redesigned depth guide that allows for maximum
visibility.

Stainless-steel lath from AMICO
Alabama Metal Industries Corp. has
introduced two new stainless-steel lath products:
SS304 and SS316.
SS304 can be used over insulation boards to
carry conventional stucco fi nishes, as well as for
external insulation requirements. It’s designed
to provide a corrosion-resistant material for
specialty lath applications.
SS316 is a specialty stainless-steel lath
designed for use in swimming pool applications
to provide additional resistance to pool-cleaning
chemicals. It is also appropriate for use in coastal
locations where atmospheric salt is a concern.
Both lath products are available in sheets of
27.5 inches by 96 inches.

Elotex’s new anti-effl orescence
additive
Elotex, a business unit of National Starch
and Chemical Co., has introduced Elotex
ERA100, a redispersible powder additive
designed to eliminate primary effl orescence in
stuccos, tile grouts, skim-coats, cement powder
paints and other cement-based mortar systems.
Elotex ERA100 is a highly active, resinbased
anti-effl orescence compound that is
compatible with other additives and has no
detrimental eff ects on working properties. When
cured, Elotex ERA100 drastically reduces
the occurrence of primary effl orescence while
increasing water repellency.

Lafarge adds new mold defense
product
Lafarge’s Mold Defense Shaftliner is the
company’s newest addition to its growing line
of mold-resistant drywall products. Designed
for use in elevator shafts, duct shafts, stairwells
in high-rise construction and area separation
walls for multifamily construction, Mold
Defense Shaftliner resists mold and mildew
growth. It also off ers the benefi t of a moistureresistant
surface.
Available in 1-inch-thick lengths of 8 feet
